Enrique Iglesias and Pitbull Light Up the Xcel Energy Center

I always debate on whether or not to do a review for a show that I only saw 6 songs of, but I think it's worth writing up a quick one to go along with the photos I took.  Enrique Iglesias and Pitbull made a stop at the Xcel Energy Center on Friday, October 6th, 2017 and I photographed the show for Mankato, MN radio station, Z99.

As I made my way from the parking ramp to the entrance gates with all the other people, I realized this was going to be a pretty full venue, considering the first act had started already and there was a lot of people still heading in.  I went in with the other photographers shortly after arriving and found the place was indeed packed.  DJ Supafly, (at least that was the name on his laptop), was entertaining the crowd playing popular hits and the crowd danced and sang along.

It wasn't too long and Pitbull took the stage, or rather rose up out of it.  I'll admit, this show took me by surprise.  I didn't expect such a production with lasers, tons on lights, smoke cannons, and plenty of levels on stage for Pitbull to run around on.  It was pretty wild for the three songs that I got to witness.  As I waited by the front gates, I could hear the crowd going crazy as each song started.  Safe to say Pitbull put on a show that everyone wanted to see.

As we walked back in for Enrique Iglesias, there was confetti everywhere.  Made me wish I could have gotten shots of that happening!  We were limited in our time taking photos and only had 45 seconds from the beginning of each of the first three songs.  If you were at the show, you know that was a crazy first three songs!  Just as Pitbull did, Enrique rose up from the front of the stage.  He took a step back and started moving backwards without walking and I realized there was a moving treadmill type floor there.  Pretty cool to see that.  Enrique jumped around and moved about the stage and the third song even included fire!  Sadly, I only had about 5 seconds to adjust for it and our time was done.  The rest of the show must have been a fun one!  Enrique Iglesias knows how to entertain!

The first of two shows at Xcel Center done, I walked back to my car hearing the music and crowd cheers fade as I did.  It was a good night!

As always, get out and support live music and I'll see you out there!
